Why is Tracking Dietary Intake Important?
I am all about being realistic. I 100% understand that we don’t always have the time and the money to do all of the things that might make weight loss or lifestyle changes easier . Yes, if you have the time to meal prep on Sundays for the week, you will increase your chances of meeting your dietary goals. Yes, if you can buy prepared meals for the week, that can be very helpful with staying on track. Yes, if you follow a meal plan created for you, you will likely see positive results.
And while all of these strategies are awesome in their own right and I use them myself and with my clients when appropriate, they aren’t always possible.
So, what I want for you is to go a step beyond these strategies and to learn to feel confident and in control of what you are eating in any circumstance, no matter your financial situation, no matter your stress level, no matter how busy your lifestyle might be. I want to help you get to a place where the choices you are making feel second nature to you AND are in line with your health goals, all while living your life!
To get there, I believe the first step is learning to track your dietary intake, typically using an app on your phone. This is a tool that can be at your disposal no matter the circumstance. It brings the much needed awareness to be able to make the necessary changes for long-term success. It’s a tool that helps you hold yourself accountable on a daily basis while moving toward your health goals.
The reason this is so important is because making changes isn’t easy, number one, and one thing that is absolutely required to make changes that last, is consistency.
No, there isn’t anything exciting about striving to be “consistent”. But, the excitement does show up when you start to see the tangible results, when you start to see the composition of your body shift, when you start to see your blood sugars improve, or you find you can avoid starting a medication, reduce a medication or even stop a medication!
These are things to celebrate and my goal is to help you get there! Reach out for more info.
